Litro Gas Lanka Limited will not revise the price of its liquefied petroleum gas cylinders for August 2026, the company announced, leaving household cooking gas costs unchanged for a further month.
The existing prices remain in force throughout August:
- 12.5 kg domestic cylinder — Rs. 4,465
- 5 kg cylinder — Rs. 1,792
- 2.3 kg cylinder — Rs. 835
Litro said the decision was taken to provide relief to consumers despite rising gas prices on the global market and challenging conditions prevailing in exchange rates.
The company is the dominant supplier of domestic LPG in Sri Lanka, and its monthly pricing decision is closely watched as a cost-of-living indicator. By holding the cylinder price flat while citing adverse movement in both world LPG costs and the rupee, Litro is absorbing the difference rather than passing it on to households this month.
LAUGFS follows
LAUGFS Gas announced later on Thursday that it too would leave the prices of its domestic gas cylinder refills unchanged for August, keeping its existing rates in force through the month. Neither the company nor the outlets reporting the decision published a revised price table.
With both suppliers holding, household cooking gas costs are flat across the market for August regardless of brand.
